Apogee is actively seeking a full-time Systems Security Engineer (Senior) supporting the Cyber Resiliency Office for Weapon Systems (CROWS) at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH. Apogee provides Systems Security Engineering, Weapon System Cybersecurity, and Acquisition Intelligence Engineering to help advance the CROWS two primary objectives: Build secure, resilient weapon systems and fix critical vulnerabilities in legacy weapon systems across the United States Air Force.

What you will be doing:

  • Evaluating the technical implementation of the security design to ascertain security software, hardware, and firmware features affecting confidentiality, integrity, availability, accountability, and non-repudiation
  • Reviewing existing and future cyber vulnerability assessments to identify targeted legacy systems and recommend mitigation strategies
  • Supporting the identification of current and future cyber analyses to understand and classify the criticality, risk of occurrence, and feasibility of mitigation strategies for legacy systems
  • Developing reports outlining the mitigation objectives and legacy system cyber resiliency strategy
  • Providing support to review products that include the following: technical evaluations/plans; engineering studies, reports, and analyses; and acquisition strategies
  • Supporting Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) document (i.e. PDR) development consultation and review
  • Providing rapid response engineering service and support as augmentation to organic resources through in-depth problem identification, impact assessment, and development of corrective actions for critical supportability problems within the scope of Cyber Resiliency Support Team (CRST) charter
  • Providing support to cybersecurity incident response efforts and/or teams as needed


  • TS/SCI Required
  • MS degree in an engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited institution
  • 10+ years of experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD)/Air Force programs
  • Proficiency in Micrsoft Office
  • USAF weapon systems acquisition experience (desired, not required)
  • Experience with MIL-HDBK-516C (desired, not required)
  • APDP Certification (Level II or higher) in engineering or program management (desired, not required)
