Apogee is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to work in our corporate offices located in Colorado Springs, CO.  The HR Generalist is responsible for providing HR support in the following functional areas: performance management, safety, HRIS, compliance, employee relations, benefits, compensation and training and development.


  • Partners with management to communicate and uphold HR policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Maintains employee-related databases. Prepares and analyzes reports that are necessary to carry out the functions of the department and company. Prepares periodic reports for management, as necessary or requested.
  • Provides day-to-day benefits administration services. Assists employees with claim issues.
  • Administers disability and worker's compensation claims.
  • Complies with existing governmental legal and reporting requirements.
  • Assists with company performance management activities that includes administration and development of assessments and individual development programs.
  • Develops and schedules new employee orientations, onboarding, benefits orientations/training and employee e-learning platforms.
  • Advises and counsels managers and supervisors regarding employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and to promote a high level of employee engagement and motivation.
  • Assists with the implementation of company safety and health programs. Tracks and posts OSHA-required data and files reports.
  • Provides competitive market research and prepares pay studies to help establish pay practices and pay bands that help to recruit and retain superior staff.


  • 5+ years of HR experience that includes benefit and compensation administration, employee relations, HRIS, safety and training.
  • A PHR is preferred.
  • General knowledge of employment laws and practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications with strong reporting abilities.
  • Must have strong detail orientation, demonstrated analytical capacity and strong business/financial acumen.
  • Must be able to practice of a high level of confidentiality.
  • Excellent conflict resolution and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment to successfully create and implement organizational change.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, including active listening skills.
