Apogee Engineering is seeking a Human Resources Assistant in Colorado Springs, CO. You will be responsible for providing administrative support the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources Department as well as performing office management services that are designed to assist in the promotion of an employee-oriented, high performance culture emphasizing empowerment, quality, goal attainment, and the ongoing development of a superior workforce.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs a wide variety of sensitive and highly confidential administrative activities for the HR Department
  • Supports Apogee employee engagement efforts and business meetings
  • Provide general support to visitors
  • Assist in the preparation of regularly scheduled reports
  • Maintain personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements
  • Advertise employee job openings internally and externally, in keeping with company recruitment policies, manage the logistics of the recruiting process, sorts and reviews resumes as requested, maintains applicant flow logs and schedule interviews for the hiring manager and HR
  • Ensure new hires receive new hire paperwork
  • Make sure that the workspace, computer and other equipment, mailbox, and appropriate installed software are ready for the new employee's start day
  • Send out welcome items to new hires and creates time badges
  • Update employee phone directory and the company organization charts
  • Sort mail and faxes; distributes to employee mailboxes
  • Order flowers and cards for employees for events such as illness, death in family, birth, graduation, etc.
  • Receive, sort and distribute incoming/outgoing mail
  • Assist with the creation of office signage, presentations, flyers, ads, newsletters, etc.
  • Update and maintains facilities related policies and procedures
  • Maintain office supply inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipates needed supplies; places and expedites orders for supplies; verifies receipt of supplies and researches new deals and suppliers
  • Monitor and reorder stock levels of facility goods (office snacks, paper towels, dishwashing detergent, etc.)
  • Ensure operation of office equipment and orders maintenance when necessary
  • Handle facility related maintenance requirements (cleaning crew issues, office key issues/inventory, lighting, etc.)
  • Keep the team informed and interact with other departments as needed
  • Handle other responsibilities as assigned by the HR Manager

 

Basic Requirements:

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point) and Adobe Illustrator /Photoshop
  • Working knowledge of office equipment, such as printers and fax machines
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to efficiently prioritize work
  • Must have extreme attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build and maintain strong interpersonal relationships with employees at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
  • 2+ years of experience or Administrative, Graphic Design, HR Assistant or Office Management

Preferred Requirements:

  • BA/BS in a related field
